How to Estimate Your Arrival Time at Steps from the Vatican Guesthouse

Thank you for booking your stay at Steps from the Vatican Guesthouse!
Please note: we are a guesthouse, not a hotel. This means we do not have a 24-hour reception. To welcome you properly and hand over the keys, we must know your estimated time of arrival (ETA) in advance. Without it, there may be no one here to check you in.

To help you calculate your ETA, here’s a quick guide based on your arrival airport:

If you are flying into Fiumicino Airport (FCO):

  • Passport control & baggage claim: 30–60 minutes after landing
  • Train to Rome (recommended route):
    • Take the Leonardo Express train to Termini Station – 32 minutes (runs every 15–30 minutes)
    • From Termini, take Bus 64 (direction Piazza Stazione S. Pietro) and get off at Cavalleggeri/San Pietro – about 20 minutes
    • Then a 2-minute walk to the guesthouse
  • Estimated total time from landing to guesthouse: 90–120 minutes

This is the only route we recommend from Fiumicino. It is reliable, direct, and tested by us and our guests.

If you are flying into Ciampino Airport (CIA):

  • Passport control & baggage claim: 20–40 minutes after landing
  • Bus to Termini Station (e.g., Terravision or SIT): 40–60 minutes
  • Then take Bus 64 from Termini to Cavalleggeri/San Pietro – about 20 minutes
  • Then a 2-minute walk to the guesthouse
  • Estimated total time from landing to guesthouse: 80–110 minutes

Example:

If you land at Fiumicino at 14:00, your estimated arrival at SFTV would likely be around 15:30–16:30, depending on passport control and transport waiting times.

Please send me (via Whatsapp or email) your flight number and ETA as soon as possible so I can make sure to be there when you arrive.

Looking forward to welcoming you!
